Rosé: Pinot Noir & Syrah Blend


It’s already August and unfortunately summer will come to an end soon. We can’t let it go so easily so it’s time to introduce our new monthly feature: Wine of the Month! Each month we will present one of our Fine European Wines and put it in the spotlight. 

Since we are in a summery mood and August calls for a summery wine we chose to start off with Rosé: Pinot Noir & Syrah as our first feature. Wine from 2015 with 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Syrah. Pinot Noir is prized for its food-friendly light body, complex aromas and overall elegance. Syrah is all about power - big fruit, big body, big alcohol: Opposites that go extremely well together! 


This blend of delightful wine varieties is soft and gentle to the palate. It has a long finish with an aftertaste of fresh fruits and it smells just like summer with thrilling aromas of strawberries, cherries and raspberries.

As many other Rosés it should be served cold around 7-13 °C. Make sure to place it in the fridge right after you buy it and let it cool. In case you cannot wait and want to drink it immediately put in in the freezer for 20-30 min and that should do the trick! However, after you pour the first glass, do not put it back in ice but rather let it “sweat” on the table - the wine’s aromas and character will change slightly as the temperature rises and you will surely smell the summer! 



If you wonder what else to put on the table try pairing this memorable blend with soft cheeses –brie, camembert or with a simple goat cheese salad. Fish dishes pair nicely as well: for example try it with a delicious pan seared salmon drizzled with a creamy pesto sauce and served with a side of crisped broccoli. Pink fish meets pink wine – it’s a recipe for a perfect pairing.


You can also make your own bruschetta bar and enjoy this sipper under the sunlight!






Overall, rosé is the perfect wine for a warm day so grab a bottle and enjoy it at the beach, park or your very own backyard!
